Music collection, [1873-ca. 1940].

The Max D. Klein Music Collection consists of music scores found within the Max D. Klein Papers at the Library of the Jewish Theological Seminary (ARC 69). The music appears to have been collected by Klein during his tenure as rabbi of Congregation Adath Jeshurun of Philadelphia (1911-1960). Most of the manuscript scores may be attributed to either organist William Noelsch or Cantor Jacob Beimel (1880-1944). The collection also contains late-nineteenth century, published synagogue music from the U.S. and Germany.
